NephCure Walk Wisconsin - May 3, 2008
More than 200 walkers came together for the first annual NephCure Walk Wisconsin, held at the WauKing Trail at South Park.  Participants were able to choose between 3 walk distances ranging from a one mile trial to an extensive eight mile hike.  The event which raised $32,000 also offered a family carnival with face painting and games for walkers to enjoy.

NephCure Walk Maryland - May 31, 2008
The first annual NephCure Maryland walk was held at the Lake Elkhorn Pavilion in Columbia, MD and entertained more than 50 walkers with a two mile trial.  Although the day did come complete with a few rain showers, walkers powered through them and even enjoyed food and a very special guest.  Baltimore’s very own Oriole Bird stopped by the event to say hello to all NephCure supporters!

NephCure Walk Chicago - September 14, 2008
A rainy day was not enough to hinder the second annual NephCure Chicago walk which was held for the second consecutive year at Moody’s Pub.  The group of 60 weathered the rain and walked 1.2 miles to Lake Michigan and back to Moody’s, where they enjoyed a delicious meal of burgers and fries!  The grand total for the day neared $15,000!

NephCure Walk Northern New Jersey - September 14, 2008
The day started out cloudy and rainy; however, soon became warm and sunny as close to 50 people came out for the second annual North Jersey walk held at the OverPeck Park in Leonia.  NephCure supporters were joined by several former NFL players including Dan Upperco of the LA Raiders, Bruce Harper of the NY Jets, Randy Reutershan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Mark Slawson of the NY Giants. To view pictures from this walk, click here

NephCure Walk Long Island - September 28, 2008
More than 200 walkers, families, friends and patients gathered for the second annual NephCure Long Island walk held at the Holtsville Ecology Site in the town of Brookhaven. 
When walking the trail, participants passed a zoo where they were able to stop and visit with the animals. The event also included featured music, crafts, raffles and lots of delicious food.  The walk raised more than $35,000 for NephCure.

NephCure Walk Central New Jersey - October 4, 2008
It was a beautiful morning the day of the first annual NephCure Central Jersey walk which was held at the Etra Lake Park in East Windsor.  Walkers were able to enjoy face painting, balloon artists, and crafts.  After completing the 2 mile walk, NephCure supporters were invited to enjoy a free concert by teen pop sensation, Tiffany Giardina!  Tiffany has been featured on the Disney channel and has performed with artists like the Jonas Brothers.  The day of fun raise more than $50,000.

NephCure Walk Southern New Jersey - October 5, 2008
More then half a dozen FSGS and Nephrotic Syndrome patients, in addition to hundreds of family and friends came out in support of NephCure for the NephCure South New Jersey walk held at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken.  Before the walk, participants had the opportunity to listen to first hand testimonials from each of the patients detailing their struggles with FSGS and Nephrotic Syndrome and how they were able to find hope and support through NephCure.  The event which raised more than $30,000 also featured food, clowns, face painters and balloon artists.

NephCure Walk Delaware Valley - October 12, 2008
A beautiful fall morning set the perfect back drop for the Second Annual NephCure Delaware Valley at the Wilson Farm Park in Chesterbrook, PA.  Kicking off the event and festivities was Brad Stewart, NephCure founding Board member and parent to FSGS patient, Melanie. There was fun for all ages from arts, crafts, balloon makers, face painters and clowns for the little ones, a DJ spinning hits for the teens, and friendly conversation for the adults.  There were more than 200 plus people who came in support of NephCure.  The event raised more than $44,000 in donations!

NephCure Walk Plainfield, IL- October 19, 2008

More than 100 friends and families came out for the NephCure Plainfield walk which was held Hammel Woods in Joliet, IL.  The weather could not have been more perfect.  Following the walk was a raffle with prizes including TVs and gift certificates to hotel suites and restaurants.  Two mini fundraisers were held prior to the walk.  These fundraisers, Silly Smiles for Sammy by APPI (Advanced Professional Photographers of IL) and Pizza for Sam by Ridge Elementary, along with the Step Forward walk collected more than $14,000 in donations.

NephCure Walk West Chester - November 2, 2008
It was a very chilly morning the day of the first annual NephCure Westchester held at FDR Park in Yorktown Heights, NY.  However, before long a bonfire burned bright to help keep the more than 100 walkers warm.  After the 2 mile trail, walkers enjoyed delicious food, music, balloon magic and laser tattoos.  One family crossed the border to participate in the event.  Rita Spadafora and her family traveled all the way from Quebec, Canada having raised more then $6,000 prior to making their trip.  The fundraising total for the day was close to $20,000.
