Christopher
has always been known as a fun-loving and positive boy. He
is six years old and just finished his Kindergarten year at
West Liberty Elementary. He was voted “Best Listener” by
his classmates and by the end of the school year, he was already
working on first grade material.
Christopher is coping with FSGS and is
currently responding positively to treatment. He is presently
on prednisone every other day and is steroid dependent. Christopher
is a patient at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
The Renal Clinic and the rest of the staff have been extremely
supportive to Christopher’s family and are happy with
his response to treatment.
Christopher loves to swim, play baseball and play video games
with his brother. He is looking forward to his family vacation
in Myrtle Beach this July.
Christopher’s father, Ed, has written to his congressman
on behalf of his son. In his letter to Congressman Casey, he
tells Christopher’s story and emphasizes the need for
further funding to support research into FSGS and Nephrotic
Syndrome. Ed plans to continue to spread the word about FSGS,
Nephrotic Syndrome and The NephCure Foundation and continue
to advocate the need for more funding.
