Ragan Wins at Daytona

photoCongratulations to NephCure Ambassador David Ragan, who won his first career Sprint Cup race Saturday, capturing the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

Ragan moved into the upper echelon of his sport with the win, driving the No. 6 UPS Ford into Victory Lane for Roush Fenway Racing, culminating a progression that began with the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series Rookie of the Year Award.

Since moving into the Sprint Cup series, Ragan has consistently notched top 10 finishes and experienced a near-miss in the prestigious Daytona 500 at the same track this past February, when he was the leader on a late re-start but ended up in 14th place after being penalized for passing too early.

In his role as a NephCure Foundation Ambassador, Ragan is the Honorary Chairperson for NephCure’s “Keys For A Cure” sweepstakes (www.keysforacure.org). He is featured in promotional materials for the fundraising campaign which awards to the grand prize winner a new Ford supplied by his David Ragan Ford dealership in Perry, GA.  The sweepstakes continues throughout the summer and fall and tickets are available for a donation of $50. The winner will be chosen in December, during a drawing at the foundation’s annual Countdown to a Cure charity gala in New York City.
