Brady’s Story

photoIn 2003, our family moved from the State of Washington to California. We noticed some swelling around then-five-year-old Brady's eyes and thought it was due to allergies since we moved to a farming area that did a lot of crop dusting.

Emily’s Story

PhotoI was 28 years old in 2000 when I noticed signs of edema. I got off of work, took my boots off and noticed indentions similar to swelling.

Ryan’s Story - UPDATED

photoIn 2005, Ryan was diagnosed with FSGS at the age of 2 ½ years old. After two years of treatment, he went into drug-free remission.

Ryan is nine years old and, praise God, continues to be in remission.

Jo’elle’s Story

photoIn 1982, when I was 16, I woke up one day and had swelled twice my size.

My mother took me to the doctor's office and was told to take me the ER right away. When I got there they immediately started to cut me out of my clothes and had to cut my jewelry off. I had NEPHROTIC SYNDROME.

Amanda's Story

PhotoI was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome after a serious heart attack at the age of 44 in September, 2011. I have always been a healthy, active person and have followed a vegetarian diet since I was 20. I live in a ski resort in France.

Zion’s Story

photoOn May 12, 2000, God blessed me with my first love. Zion was always a happy baby drawing lots of attention. He was the joy of my life.

Aidan’s Story

photoIn 2009 when he was just 2 ½ years old, we took our son Aidan in to the doctor because we thought he had an allergic reaction to something; his eyes and belly were swollen. That day my world turned upside down. His doctor immediately contacted a pediatric nephrologist and together they diagnosed him with Nephrotic Syndrome.

Michael’s Story

photoMichael never showed any symptoms until he started getting a "cold." We brought him in several times because of puffy eyes and kept being told it was a sinus infection, head cold or some kind of allergy.
