One
Grandmother's Tennis Group Serves Up a
Smash Against FSGS
(Pat
Stewart, the grandmother of NephCure's Melanie
Stewart, sent along a generous check from a
recent event in Seabrook Island, SC, which
the group described this way. We lobbed our
thanks back pronto.)
A
very enthusiastic group of women recently held
a tennis tournament to raise money for NephCure.
Melanie Stewart, whose grandparents live on
the island, is a great favorite of many of
the players. So well liked is she that the
ladies wanted to do something that would benefit
an organization so dear to Melanie's heart.
The
women arrived proudly wearing their NephCure
pins and proceeded to have a great time. It
was an especially happy time for Melanie's
grandmother (no, she didn't win), but she had
the pleasure of receiving a generous check
from the participants.
At
the luncheon following the tournament Ethel
Ashby distributed copies of articles taken
from the NephCure website, and gave a short
talk on the aims of NephCure.
