NephCure and 10,000 Doctors

NephCure recently attended the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Conference during Renal Week this November in San Diego, CA. This conference attracted over 10,000 physicians, researchers, students, trainees and other health professionals from across the country and around the world.

This was an excellent opportunity for NephCure to connect with nephrology professionals and raise awareness of our initiatives.

The annual ASN Conference has several educational objectives:

1. To disseminate new knowledge regarding scientific and clinical discoveries in the field of Nephrology;

2. To expand the scope of research in Nephrology by providing exciting advances in related disciplines;

3. To discuss contemporary standards and new approaches to clinical care in order to ensure the highest quality of care for patients with renal diseases and related disorders; and

4. To review, update and put into perspective the recent advances in many key areas of general nephrology, dialysis, transplantation and hypertension.

As in years past, NephCure hosted a booth in the exhibit hall to provide nephrologists with an opportunity to learn more about our organization and how we can help patients and families dealing with Nephrotic Syndrome and FSGS.

NephCure also hosted another Patient Education Seminar for families in the San Diego area – over a dozen patient families heard presentations from physicians and researchers on various topics including an introduction to glomerular injury and the genetics of glomerular disease. These seminars provide people with the opportunity to hear the latest information on research and treatment, to present questions to some of the top professionals in the field of nephrology and to meet others and share stories.
