Keri’s Story

I was officially diagnosed on March 6, 2012 at the age of 43.

Over the four weeks prior to being diagnosed, I was going through all of tests everyone here has gone through to get a diagnosis. However, we were assuming from the beginning (02/11/2012), when my blood pressure landed me in the ER, this was Nephrotic Syndrome and FSGS was the likely culprit.

I have been an incredibly healthy, lucky person throughout my life and this has definitely been difficult for me to wrap my mind around but I have.

I am so incredibly blessed to have amazing children, a fantastic boyfriend, a wonderful extended family and just as importantly a network of close friends that have kept me "grounded" as I worked through the fear.

I have been started on 60 mg of Prednisone and I'm ready to face any and all side effects and beat this thing!
