Jet Stores 2005 Annual Golf Tournament - Great Success!

President of the Jet Food Stores Georgia Inc., Charles Turner, and his wife Beth hosted the Third Annual Jet Food Stores Golf Tournament in Sandersville, Georgia.

On May 2, 2005 golf enthusiasts were invited to improve their handicap at the Twin City Country Club to raise money supporting the mission of The NephCure Foundation.

Beth Turner, whose daughter Madison was diagnosed with FSGS in December 2004, hopes that the $15,000 raised during the golf tournament “will help find a cure for all the children and people living with this disease including our precious Madison”. Madison is currently doing well and has been enjoying her first year in Kindergarten.

Ed Hearn, member of the 1986 World Champion NY Mets and Ambassador to The NephCure Foundation was the celebrity guest of the 2005 tournament. “He has really been an inspiration to a lot of people this week”, says Beth Turner about Ed Hearn who has been dealing with FSGS and has already endured three kidney transplants.

Hearn signed baseballs and gave out his book “Conquering Life’s Curves – Baseballs, Battles & Beyond”.
