On Thursday, September 20, 2007, The NephCure
Foundation hosted "All In For A Cure" at the Crystal
Plaza in Livingston, New Jersey. The poker tournament
and casino night drew a crowd of 100 people who enjoyed a
great night of cards, food, drinks, and fun all in the name
of a great cause. Cocktails began at 6:00 p.m. as a way to
kick off the night. This entertaining event included
a reception dinner, an open bar, and live and silent auctions.
Howard Cross, former tight end for the Super Bowl champion
NY Giants, was the celebrity live auctioneer. Steiner
Sports coordinated this live auction which included items
signed by legends of various major sports. Howard Cross
did an excellent job auctioning off items including a guitar
signed by Jon Bon Jovi, a goalie stick autographed by NJ
Devils goalie Martin Brodeur, a meet and greet with Knicks
legend John Starks, and tickets to see The Police in concert
at Madison Square Garden.
The tournament’s top eight finishers shared a prize
pool. The amount exceeded $15,000 and was based on
the number of participants. The prizes were awarded via Visa
gift cards.
Hartz Mountain Industries was the sponsor of the final table
