The Pennsylvania Main Line Recycle & ReCell Drive
The NephCure Foundation is conducting a spare cell phone and ink cartridge drive; a recycling initiative, encouraging residents who live along the Pennsylvania Main Line to pitch in and help save the environment for an important cause.
Donated cell phones in good condition are refurbished and resold as economical alternatives to new cell phones. Non-reusable cell phones are recycled according to EPA guidelines.
There are nearly 200 million cell phones lying idle across the United States. Even worse, over 400 million ink cartridges end up in landfills each year. NephCure will place 60 collection boxes in retail stores throughout the Mainline. Used cell phones have the ability to generate up to $15 and ink cartridges can accumulate $1-$2. NephCure’s goal is to collect 10,000 cell phones. For more information on the program, click here.
Local retailers and corporate parks have accepted NephCure's invitation to place collection boxes starting July 16th* until September 15th*. If you live in nearby, look out for the white and orange boxes and pitch in to help!
