We were fortunate to have a guest speaker Agnes T. O’Connor, L.M.S.W., attend the meeting to discuss living with a child who has a chronic disease and the affects it has on the family and the healthy siblings. Michele A Kelly CPNP,NPP also attended to answer questions, add support. If there are further questions or you would like to meet with them, they were kind enough to leave us their telephone numbers to contact them; Michele A. Kelly:  631-444-8184 or 631-754-2559   Agnes T. O’Conner:  631-219-8347.

It was good to have new families join us.  We all spoke of our challenges and triumphs of kidney disease and our hope for the future.

Thank you to Paulette and Child Life for providing a fun time for the children who attended and for all who brought and baked the delicious goodies.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting on Tuesday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m. on the 11th floor in the Health Science Center, room 020.  Come and meet Ivy Cohen of the Nephcure Foundation, she will be  helping us plan and organize our walk which is scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Holtsville Ecology Center.  It will be a fun evening, see you there.
